“The Sinaloan women of my family have always been celebrated cooks and kitchen magicians. On the day I was born, my grandmother and aunts busied themselves cooking while my mother Emilia rested after delivering her ninth and last child. Since it was Lent, tradition called for a shrimp ceviche and hearty fish soup, which my grandmother Inés served with freshly-ground corn tortillas. Fortunately, this was business as usual at our home: roasted coffee, warm bread, homemade cheese, butter and jam were the norm. We were rich in love and in food - my childhood was an endless savoring of flavors, smells and textures.

Many years later, I found myself in Puerto Vallarta with a husband and four children of my own. My appreciation of food had transformed into a personal philosophy, so I deepened my knowledge through study and practice, while I owned and operated PV’s first gourmet food store.

Puerto Vallarta is a unique place that has given me countless blessings. I created Arte Culinario by Mavi Graf as a thank you to the energy of this wonderful city and the people that live and vacation in it. Our purpose is to offer services that elevate the enjoyment of life through food. This is an invitation to discover the flavors that come from my kitchen, because they too come from my heart.”
